Our first annual "neighborhood" BBQ held on Friday, May 30, was a huge success! All current and potential members were invited to eat, socialize, and sign up for several drawings during the event itself. Winners of $50 gas cards were Gayle Ballesteros, Mike Henderson and Vivian Gove. We had balloons and other goodies for the children. Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time. We owe a special thanks to Paul Miller, Alex King, Danny McLaughlin, Joe Coffin, Peggy Hanson, Steve Desmond, Donna Peirce, Theresa Viollette, Herb Gans and all the staff for helping with the events that day.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION RESULTS
Paul Miller, Peggy Hanson and Darla King were re-elected to the Board of Directors at our 2007 Annual Meeting held on May 14,2008. We want to thank them for the continued support they have shown to the credit union over the years.

Advertising Our Field of Membership
Since we opened our field of membership to Bangor and approximately 20 surrounding towns, the credit union has been advertising to potential members who live, work, worship or attend school in these towns. We have done some television advertising, target marketing to households in certain towns, placed ads in the Bangor Daily News, and several other venues. In some of our latest ads, you can see our Mission Statement which is "Building Strong Financial Futures-one member at a time". This statement says it all by telling you and any potential new members that we are here to help each individual person build the strongest financial future available to you in these tough times. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY CORNER
We are almost half way through the year and have collected over $600 for our 2008 Campaign to End Hunger in Maine. We want to thank all of you who have helped in any way by purchasing candy bars, chips, cookbooks, magnets or one of many other items we have for sale. We know that this year is a tough one with the price of oil and gas and it's wonderful that our members remember there are people who need help even more than in past years. Thanks for being so generous!

As a credit union we are always thinking of ways to recognize our current membership. Our staff has developed a program that we feel will have great rewards for you, our members. Every quarter there will be a drawing for $100 which will be categorized by age group. This quarter we want to recognize 12-years old and younger members. Join us on August 2, 2008(rain date Sunday,August 3) at the 19th Annual Art Festival held in Pickering Square. As one of the sponsors of the festival, we will have a booth where you can buy a raffle ticket to win a beautiful hand-made carving board(donated by Steve Desmond), or a watercolor print(donated by Collette King), or a watercolor print(donated by Peg Hanson). All proceeds from the drawings will benefit the 2008 Campaign to End Hunger in Maine. We hope to see you there on August 2!
